Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) / Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Addiction & Withdrawal Management

Job Summary: We are seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to care for individuals in a residential addiction treatment and detox facility. In this role, you will deliver medically monitored withdrawal management, conduct comprehensive nursing intake assessments, administer medications, and empower patients on their path to lasting recovery in a supportive, multidisciplinary environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Admission & Intake: Complete patient admission procedures, conduct belongings searches for safety compliance, administer TB skin tests, and perform initial nursing assessments.
  • Detox & Withdrawal Management: Monitor patients for signs and symptoms of intoxication and withdrawal in the Detoxification Unit using clinical assessment tools.
  • Medication Administration: Manage and administer medications according to physician orders and maintain accurate, up-to-date Medication Administration Records (MAR).
  • Patient Care & Support: Provide direct clinical care, monitor changes in patient condition, maintain a safe and hygienic treatment environment, and offer empathetic support and counseling.
  • Shift Leadership & Collaboration: Direct patient care technicians on assigned shifts, consult with internal staff and multidisciplinary teams, and establish individual treatment plans to address medical needs.
  • Documentation: Maintain complete chart documentation including progress notes, physician order logs, and referral details in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system (Kipu) .

Facility & Shift Details:

  • Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:30 (varies based on shift activity)
  • EMR: Kipu
  • Attire: Any color scrubs

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Experience: Minimum 1+ year of medication administration experience [Required] .
  • Clinical Assessment: Direct experience utilizing CIWA (Clinical Institute Withdrawal Assessment) and COWS (Clinical Opiate Withdrawal Scale) protocols [Required] . (Previous experience in an Opioid Addiction / Recovery Center is highly preferred) .
  • Licensure: Active, unrestricted RN or LPN license [Required] .
  • Certifications: Active Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification [Required] .
  • Core Competencies: Strong clinical assessment skills, firm understanding of addiction/detox protocols, commitment to maintaining professional boundaries, and excellent patient communication.
